Energy technology components

Energy technology components

The new energy production landscape with electricity from growing shares of renewable energies, the coupling of electricity and heat generation as well as the integration of the transport sector poses new challenges for the network infrastructure. In particular, new types of stress and a higher variability in the load can be identified, which leads to changed requirements in the area of selection, design and testing, but also in ageing behaviour.

These and similar questions are to be discussed in the new ENERGY SAXONY working group "Energy Technology Components" headed by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Steffen Großmann (TU Dresden) and Prof. Dr. techn. Stefan Kornhuber (University of Applied Sciences Zittau/Görlitz) and technical solutions are to be found together.

The changed feed-in situations (in terms of location, time) to be expected in the future due to the energy system transformation will cause significant changes in the stress on the equipment - both in its stress variables and in its volatility - which must be recognised and determined by suitable measures for existing components and taken into account in the design of future equipment.
