DBFZ Biokraftstoff-Fachgespräch

Industry Forum on retrofitting measures for biofuel plants

In collaboration with the H2020 BIOFIT project

Besides erecting entirely new biofuel plants, retrofitting – i.e. replacing a part of a factory or installation with state-of-the-art equipment – can be a very good alternative to substitute fossil fuels or to upgrade renewable technology. Retrofitting often means lower capital expenditure (CAPEX), shorter lead times, faster implementation, less production time losses and lower risks. The BIOFIT project was set-up to foster retrofitting measures on the European market.

  • What are crucial challenges for plant operators and engineers?

  • What are the decisive framework conditions for conducting retrofitting measures?

  • What are the benefits from already implemented retrofits?

If you are interested in sharing your retrofitting experiences, you are kindly asked to get in contact with Arne Gröngröft (arne.groengroeft@dbfz.de) until May 10th, 2019.
